About This Opportunity
The position will be based in Murcia or La Rioja. As a crucial part of our logistics team, your role will be vital in ensuring efficiency, capacity availability, and continuous improvement in our plant's transport management. You'll be responsible for the integral management of transport flows, directly contributing to regional strategy and resolving daily challenges.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Strategy & Regional Synergies: Contribute to the development of regional transport strategies and ensure their continuous communication within all Sonoco plants. Analyze operational flows to identify and implement synergies that optimize efficiency.
- Daily Operational Management: Be the primary responsible for the day-to-day transport management within Sonoco plants. This includes coordinating and organizing tasks to ensure uninterrupted.
- Strategic Internal Support: Provide direct support to sales and supply chain teams, ensuring that transport capacity is always available to meet their needs. You'll collaborate to identify, foresee, and plan future requirements.
- Collaboration with Sourcing: Support the Sourcing team in securing better capacities and availabilities for each route. (Important: Tariff negotiation and new supplier validation are exclusively the responsibility of Sourcing).
- Optimization & Problem Solving: Identify the root cause of problems linked to your area of responsibility within the organization and implement effective solutions in conjunction with the involved teams (sales, operations, supply chain, etc.).
- Cost Control & SAP Processes: Ensure the correct execution of SAP processes and that all transport costs are properly recorded in the system. You will resolve any discrepancies between costs in the SAP system and those invoiced by carriers.
- Validation & Supervision: Validate tariff exceptions (surcharges, emergency surcharges, etc.), always following Sourcing guidelines. Supervise and efficiently manage supplies and returns.
- Claims Management & KPIs: You will be responsible for managing transport claims. You'll rigorously monitor loading times and other relevant KPIs, as well as overseeing supplies to ensure on-time delivery.

- Proven experience in transport and logistics management, preferably in an industrial or multi-plant environment.
- Advanced knowledge of SAP (logistics or transport modules).
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
- Proactive and autonomous in managing responsibilities.
