About this opportunity

We are looking for a proactive multi-skilled, time served maintenance technician to provide technical engineering support on a 3-shift basis. The postholder ensures that the production lines run smoothly, minimising any downtime, whilst also being responsible for all other ancillary equipment on site. The postholder ensures that preventative and corrective maintenance tasks are performed safety and effectively at all times.

Your mission in Sonoco - Newcastle plant

carry out electrical and/or mechanical fault-finding, repair or replacement of site equipment and facilities
set up, adjust and run production lines
ensure daily maintenance of machines including oiling, greasing and cleaning
ensure the lines are safe to operate
contribute towards the PPM scheule, and complete the works required
contribute towards the training of colleagues including apprentices
involvement in technical and CAPEX projects as required

About you

You will hold professional qualifications in both mechanical and electrical skills, with minimum 3 years’ of working as a multi-skilled technician within a busy Manufacturing environment. You are a postivie, effective communicator with good interpersonal skills. You have a process & problem-solving orientation, and fluent in English.

Annual Salary is £48,000 including shift allowance, with a range of employee benefits including competative pension scheme, EAP and private health insurance.
